Branded Anchor Text Google is big on brands and trying to rank without them seems to trigger spam alert. We are getting confirmed reports from our clients that adding branded keywords is helping rankings for stalled keywords. Here is an example. If your client owns a business named Smiley Dentistry in Dallas with the web address of www.smileydentistrydallas.com, I would use the following anchor text as variations. "Smiley Dentistry" (25%), "dentist in Dallas" (25%), "Dallas dental office" (25%), "Dallas dental specialist" (25%). If you are using our Unlimited Keywords SEO, we automatically include naked URL (www.smileydentistrydallas.com) as part of the anchor text. This means the percentages become 20% instead of 25% when the articles are syndicated. Since Unlimited Keywords SEO uses 2 URLs per each entry, I recommend creating a pair entry to cross target the two URLs. Here is an extended example from above: Entry 1) URL1: http://www.smileydentistrydallas.com Main Keyword: dentist in Dallas URL2: http://www.smileydentistrydallas.com/blog Thematic Keywords: Smiley Dentistry, Dallas dental specialist, Dallas dental office Entry 2) URL1: http://www.smileydentistrydallas.com/blog Main Keyword: Smiley Dentistry in Dallas URL2: http://www.smileydentistrydallas.com Thematic Keywords: best Dentist in Dallas, Dallas dental specialist, invisalign specialist As you can see, we are cross targeting each URL with the branded anchor text in it. I would also start adding passives to the same URLs the following month with additional keyword variations since the actives will continuously create new articles using the same anchor text from the existing entries. Here are some anchor text variations you can use: How do I find Invisalign dentist in Dallas?, best Invisalign dentist, affordable dental care in Dallas, etc...
